The good news is that privatizing a space at Kahiki is much simpler than it sounds — and you don't need to book out the entire venue to get a different kind of experience.
What you can privatize
At Kahiki Barcelona there are three tiers: the Entresuelo (10 to 20 people, with your own music), the Acuario (16 to 25 people, next to the venue's fish tanks), and the full venue, both floors exclusively, up to 120 people.
At Kahiki Mataró, the biggest tiki bar in Spain, the options grow: a terrace (up to 70 people), an indoor room with fish tanks and a dance floor (up to 90), or the full venue, which holds up to 500 people.
And if none of those categories quite fit — say, a group of 8 who just want a few tables set apart — you can also book without privatizing anything at all.
How the request works
Kahiki doesn't ask you to have everything figured out in advance. The private event request form asks, step by step, what you're celebrating, how many you'll be, whether you want catering or an open bar, and whether you'd like to add a DJ, a photographer, or decoration — with a "not sure, let Kahiki recommend something" option available on almost every question. Within 48 hours, the team replies with availability and a quote built around what you actually asked for, free and with no obligation to book.
Ideas that work well at Kahiki
The most common reasons are birthdays, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate dinners and parties, and photo shoots or filming that use the tiki decor as a ready-made set. The atmosphere — bamboo, carved masks, colored lights and cocktails served with fire — does most of the work by itself.
